Hello!
I am so excited to be your kindergarten teacher this year! I am originally from Madison, Wisconsin, but spent most of my years growing up in San Antonio, Texas. I am the oldest of three. My parents and sisters still live in San Antonio, so I enjoy going back for Tex-Mex on weekends!
I am a military brat, so I have done much traveling, which has now become a hobby of mine. I also enjoy arts and crafts, dancing, and learning to play my acoustic guitar. (If you have any tips, I will gladly take them!)
My love for teaching and helping others began many years ago. I spent my summers working at Sea World San Antonio where I taught children about marine life and conservation.
I graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with ESL certification. Upon graduation I was selected to be a part of the Teacher Fellows Graduate Program. I taught kindergarten at Spicewood Elementary School, while attending Graduate classes on Monday nights. All of the hard work paid off, and I graduated soon after with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.
With each school year comes a new chapter of all of our lives. New learning, new teachers, new friends, and so forth. This year is extra special to me because not only have I been planning for a new school year, but I am also planning a wedding! My fiance proposed to me on my birthday this year, and we are looking forward to a beautiful wedding in the summer of 2017. This will be my last year as Ms. Johnson, so I am looking forward to hearing it over and over and over again :)
Kindergarten is such a special year in a child's life. I am ready to start this new chapter with you all, and I thank you for allowing me to be apart of it.
Sincerely,
Ms. Johnson
